But, But, But...

It's not exactly a quiet corner kind of day for me but that's okay, they can't all be that way can they?

I spotted this online yesterday, do you remember these sleigh desks. Were we ever really small enough to wiggle into those seats?

I was reading an article yesterday on the Top 5 ways to stock up on chemical free fruits and vegetables to preserve and I thought you might enjoy the article. It had a couple of new suggestions that I had never considered. I would totally LOVE to go to an Amish Auction one day!! If you are interested, here's the link:

While I was contemplating all things fruits & vegetables, I came across a Sumptuous Spoonfuls recipe for Pineapple Arugula Salad with Goat Cheese & Walnuts. My niece, Rachel, absolutely adores arugula so I shared the Facebook link to the recipe with her (seeing as this blog, like my daily blog, is by invitation only). It's a beautiful site and well worth a little "look see" if you enjoy food styling and new recipes. Check it out and while you are there, make sure to take a gander at the the Peachy Perfect Carmel rolls that are on the home page a little down the page - they are a truly sinful kind of pleasure! By the time I get around to doing any canning, I am going to have hundreds of recipes that speak to me. Friday all I could think of was a Spicy Peach Salsa and today is Garden Tomato Relish. Here are the links that keep calling me back, over and over and over...

Enough already!

Had I mentioned that I have started reading a container gardening blog? I am really finding it fascinating, but then I know nothing about gardening so everything is fascinating! LOL It is fun to look at and try to plan the design of what I want to do with my little veggie patch in the future:

The pictures are truly spectacular and proof that even I can have a nice little vegetable garden without devoting the entire back forty to it. I was talking to Larry & I think I will start small next summer...tomatoes, cucumbers grown vertically, green and yellow beans and of course my dill & chives. I may get the landscapers to pull a stump out for me next summer - so that I can use that area along the back fence to have a small raised bed and put in some rhubarb plants. That's enough to start with I think. :-D

I'd love to have all kinds of things but really...for a gal that doesn't like bugs or to get her hands dirty - maybe container gardening is more my speed.

I thought this was rather cute and decided to share it with you, as I sip my tea and I try to get myself motivated and moving:
