I am all over the map today!

Don't you just love this little garden retreat? I think I have some deep South in my soul...I love front porches and garden retreats. I could spend hours in those environments...who am I kidding...you'd have to blast me out! LOL

I sent this little gem to Larry via Facebook sharing with a little note, "Oh Larry...". Think he'll build me a couple of these for the back yard?

I was looking in the dining room and realized I have a really nice flannel that I could quick as a wink turn into a really pretty rag quilt if I picked up some light pink, dark pink, ruby red and white flannel (for the backing) to go with it. I was looking at the Four Patch design & figured what the heck.

Lately I have been reading an enormous amount on both canning and vegetarian recipes again. I found the above little gem to motivate me!

I can't have the grapefruit because of some of the medication I am on but all the rest is fair game! Then I came across this & it made me smile.

And I saw the tip for cleaning veggies & reducing pesticides... always a good thing.

In the same tip kind of vein, I saw this:

FRUGAL TIP OF THE DAY: TIP FOR KEEPING BERRIES FROM GOING MOLDY!!

When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you want (though the mixture is so diluted I find you can't taste the vinegar,) and pop in the fridge. The vinegar kills any mold spores and other bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit, and voila! Raspberries will last a week or more, and I've had strawberries go almost two weeks without getting moldy and soft.

After all the nasty, over the top recipes I have given you...it's time for something fresh and not fattening!
and here's the recipe:

Cucumber Mint Melon Elixir

2 medium cucumbers
1 1/2 cup fresh cut melon
1 cup Spinach
1/4 cup fresh picked Mint
~1 cup water

Process in your blender to make ~30oz.

You can't say I never give you anything healthy!
