I am quietly grieving the loss of my Aunt Lucille and the fact that this is the end of an era for me. My great grandmother has passed, Grandma Poznikoff has passed, my mother is gone, my Aunt Marie passed years ago and now my Aunt Lucille is gone too. These are the women that shaped who I am today. It certainly makes you stop and think when you realize that if things go by age...you are next up in the line of Doukhobor heritage to go on to meet your maker. I don't feel ready to go any time soon, but if it's a choice of suffering or dying, I'll pick the later. Sorry to be morbid but that's what is going thru my mind this morning. Probably it's a good thing to take a wee break from posting for a few days.
My cousin, Roger, just posted this and I thought it said it all,
"God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you, and whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts, to prove to us, He only takes the best!"
